  • What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are synthetic material. They are attached to your eyelash individually and not to the skin. Each synthetic lash is attached to an eyelash. It is a very enhancing beauty and you DO NOT need to use any Mascara while wearing these Eyelash extensions.

  • How are eyelash extensions applied?

Lovely Lashes eyelash extensions are A single synthetic mink is attached one by one to your natural lash, about 1mm away from your eyelid. It is not attached to your skin while clients are fully reclined on an aesthetician’s table.

  • Why do I need eyelash extensions Fill?

After your first application, you will notice that over time, lashes normally fall out. The longer time from your application, the longer a “fill” to replace lashes will take. (Clients who had their lashes applied by other salons/ individuals may require removal and a new set. As we are seeing an increasing amount of damaged lash applications, we cannot in good faith work “on top “of someone else’s work.

Your eyelashes, like the rest of the hair on your body, grow and shed in accordance with a predictable cycle. The eyelash growth cycle is broken down into three stages: Anagen (growth) phase, Catagen (transition) phase, and Telogen (resting) phase. Each individual eyelash is on its own phase of the growth cycle.

This means you have eyelashes that are both growing and falling out at any given time. That’s why it’s normal to lose a few eyelashes on most days. The full eyelash cycle typically takes from 4 to 6 weeks. When your eyelashes are shedding, the eyelash extension glued to it sheds as well. Your technician may recommend a new set for a fresher look

Other common reasons why lashes fall off:

  • Natural lash shedding

  • Exposure to heat or steam too frequently

  • Strong shower directly on the face

  • Improper care within the first 2 days

  • Excessive rubbing

  • Use of oily products or makeup remover directly on the lashes

  • What happens when I come in for an Eyelash Extension Fill Appointment?

Your lashes must be cleaned; meaning any makeup residue from mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, foundation, etc. is removed from the extensions, your natural lashes, and the eyelids. There will be a fee to clean your lashes if they are too dirty. Next extensions that have grown out from your natural lashes are removed. Then your lashes are primed for new extensions and the new extensions are added.

  • How long do the Eyelashes last?

It is an individual process. Eyelashes normally shed about 2-5 lashes on a regular basic, and multiple extensions may be lost on any given day. We also grow a new lash to replace the one that fell out. As your natural lashes grow and shed, the extensions on top of those lashes will grow and shed along with them. Most clients’ lashes can stay on up to 5 weeks with proper care and maintenance, but some clients need or want to come every 2 weeks. However, factors such as eyelash growth, lifestyle, hair quality, allergies, medications and general after care will affect how long the lashes last. Touch- ups are recommended after the initial full set application to refill any lashes that have cycled out. To maintain the full, thick appearance of a new set of lashes a visit to your lash professional is recommended every 2-3 weeks based on your own natural lash growth cycle. You should have 50% of your extensions still on at refill time. Also arriving on time for your appointments will ensure you will receive the maximum amount of eyelashes. We require at least 25% of your extensions to be remaining at the time of your service to qualify for a touch up service. Waiting more than 4 weeks between appointments will require another full set appointment.

*** Eyelash extensions last 10 days for natural set to 4+ weeks volume full set

The technique requires several different separation steps during the application process so each lash is adhered to a single natural lash in order to prevent interruption of the lash growth cycle, and the lash adhesive is formulated to create a solid bond, specifically for human lashes. The adhesive dries very soft on the lashes, allowing the lashes to stay flexible and bouncy just like your own lashes. You must accept that lashes extensions will fall off sooner and you will need to get touch-ups more frequently if you can not avoid sleeping on your face. It is recommend to sleep with silk pillow case to decrease the wear during your sleep, and prevent any bugs

  • My eyelash extensions were done at another salon. Can i still get them done here?

We are welcome clients coming from other lash studios with existing eyelashes; however, we cannot guarantee the work of other salons; so we ask that you allow us more time to examine your lashes and may require removing your current set if the lash extensions were improperly applied. This is to avoid the risk of mixing different adhesives and materials. The lash extension removal fee is $15 for a partial set removal (10-30 lashes per eye) and $40 for a full set removal (more than 30 lashes per eye). A full set must then be purchased depending on the current condition of the lashes. Please understand it is difficult to go over someone else’s work because most times we see clients from elsewhere who’s lashes need a lot more work than what we have time for with our regular touch up. We would want to ensure the extension is being lashed properly without any damage once we start with you.
